Dr. Julia B. Edwards

Dr. Julia B. Edwards, a native of Wisconsin, is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, School of Optometry. Dr. Edwards is a therapeutic optometrist certified in the detection, diagnosis and treatment of eye problems and diseases using medical therapeutics. Conjunctivitis, pink eye, blepharitis, iritis, and removal of foreign objects from the eye can all be diagnosed, treated and managed in this office by Dr. Edwards. Dr. Edwards can also oversee treatment and management of glaucoma, diabetic eye changes and macular degeneration, along with the care of cataract and laser surgery patients, both pre- and post-operatively.

Dr. Edwards enjoys camping, hiking and boating with her family in the beautiful Wisconsin outdoors.

Dr. Trixie I. Eakin

Dr. Trixie I. Eakin, a native of Oregon, graduated from Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove, Oregon. Dr. Eakin is a therapeutic optometrist certified in the detection, diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases using medical therapeutics. She is able to oversee the treatment and management of glaucoma, diabetic eye changes and macular degeneration, along with the pre and post operative care of cataract and laser surgery patients. Dr. Eakin has additional training in pediatric eye care, vision related learning problems, and geriatric eye care. Dr. Eakin is dedicated to exceptional family eye care.

Dr. Eakin enjoys supporting her children in their many activities, volunteering in the community, and walking with her husband and shetland sheep-dog.

Kathy, Optometric Assistant

Kathy has been a valued member of our office for nine years. Kathy is a certified paraoptometric and helps keep our team up-to-date and current by regularly attending optometric conventions and seminars. Kathy has also been a tremendous asset during our pre-school vision screenings and our frequent day-care visits where we also do screenings.

She is always ready to help and enjoys getting to know our patients. Kathy likes being able to greet patients by name both in the office and at the grocery store. She finds our office in beautiful DeForest the perfect setting.

You'll find Kathy attending our local sporting events to support her active kids. She also enjoys photography and music.

Joyce, Optometric Assistant

Joyce is an ABO certified optician and member of the Wisconsin Paraoptometric Association. She has been in the optical industry for more than 20 years. Joyce has a true appreciation for providing personalized service and exceptional patient care, and is often greeted by happy patients she has assisted in the past.

Joyce is an enthusiastic outdoors woman born and raised here in Wisconsin. She is a true Badgers Fan. She enjoys every aspect of her growing grandchildrens' lives and brings that same lively interest to our eyecare team. We are fortunate to benefit from Joyce's many talents.

Leslie, Optometric Assistant

Leslie is a graduate of the MATC Optometric Technician program. Leslie enjoys swimming, playing tennis and spending time with her family and friends. We are proud to have Leslie on our team.

Sean is a graduate of the MATC Optometric Technician program. Sean enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends.

Dawn, Receptionist

Dawn is the proud mother of two boys, Brandon-13, and Aaron-9. She is currently working part time as a receptionist. Dawn has been with us since 2005. Her favorite past time is Home Improvement/Decorating.

Liz, Receptionist

Liz worked with us through the Youth Apprenticeship program at the high school. She stayed on the team continuing her receptionist job as well as taking on other jobs and tasks around the office where she is needed. She enjoys spending as much of her free time with her friends as she can.

Erin, Receptionist

Erin is a junior at DeForest High School. She is currently working as a receptionist in the office. She enjoys playing basketball and hanging out with her friends.
